June 16, 2010 – Joyce Brandman, a lifelong philanthropist, received an honorary fellowship from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem at the 73rd International Board of Governors meeting on Monday, June 7, 2010 in Jerusalem, Israel. The same day, a ceremony on Hebrew University's Mount Scopus campus paid tribute to Joyce and Saul (z'l) Brandman, whose names were inscribed on the Benefactor's Wall. Mrs. Brandman also dedicated "The Brandman Foundation Chair in Cardiac and Pulmonary Diseases" to The Hebrew University on Tuesday, June 8th. All three ceremonies recognized Mrs. Brandman's steadfast devotion to The Hebrew University, Israel and the international Jewish community.
Mrs. Brandman and her husband Saul, of blessed memory, have supported The Hebrew University of Jerusalem for decades. In addition to the recently endowed Chair in Cardiac and Pulmonary Diseases at the Faculty of Medicine, the Brandmans' generous financial assistance and dedication has provided scholarships for dozens of students, and helped build the new Scopus Student Village.
