I would like to start this newsletter with a summary of 2009. Ten medical teams have come and gone to Guatemala and brought ten million dollars in direct medical aid to people they didn't know or will ever receive anything from.   

As a result of our kind Donors in 2009, approximately 150 children completed another year of great, value based education. HELPS education program is providing the kind of education that builds a country's future.   

In 2009, an ONIL stove factory was dedicated in Mexico, and by receiving the ONIL Stoves, over 25,000 families in Guatemala and Mexico had a real life change. Not some phony type of change, but a change that had never been seen in history by any member of their families.  Some families even participated in the newest HELPS program of a total home transformation that involved the ONIL Stove, ONIL Water Filtration System, concrete floors, and white washed walls.   

Also, in 2009, 1,000 families participated in the HELPS Corn Program.  This revolutionary program does two magnificent things:  It gives the families both enough to eat and puts money in their pocket. About $300,000 in real new income was generated.  Now that's life changing and something everyone can understand! 

HELPS 2010 is well underway, but this year could never have happened without people like you.  Thank you to the individuals, our corporate partners, our supporting foundations, our volunteers of all faiths, the people we help, and you.  Because of God's grace and the character of the People of HELPS, we can do great things.
