Revitalization of the Textile Tradition

REVITALIZATION OF THE TEXTILE TRADITION

This program is put on by Fabiana de Saenz form the Museo Ixchel in Guatemala City. The course is geared to 4th grade boys and girls to teach them to weave in the tradition of the Mayans. They learn to identify Mayan symbols in the textiles, and to incorporte master weavers from the community into the program. The cost is $1,700.
