5th Grade Annual Field Trip to Quetzaltenango on June 9, 2008

The Fifth Grade Students, two teachers and several HELPS volunteers will travel from Santa Avelina to Quetzaltenango on June 9, 2008, and return on June 13, 2008.  The purpose of the field trip is to encourage the children to continue their education beyond the sixth grade.  Among the many sites to see, visits are planned to the Museum of Natural History, Cathedral of the Sacred Spirit, University of Guatemala campus, an ancient Mayan battlefield at Llanos de Urbina, and a live theater experience with indigenous actors.

Donations are most welcome to defray the projected cost of the trip:  $4,405.49.
